GTA VI on PC Reportedly Lands in Q1 2027, Months After Console

GamesBeat says Rockstar plans the GTA VI PC release for the first quarter of 2027, citing four industry sources. Rockstar has confirmed nothing, and the console date is still the only timing on the record.

Rockstar plans to release the PC version of GTA VI in the first quarter of 2027, according to a report from GamesBeat published on October 13. That window would put the PC launch roughly two to five months after the console release on November 19, 2026, a strikingly short gap by Rockstar's own history.

GamesBeat says it confirmed the timing with four industry sources familiar with the studio's plans, all of whom spoke anonymously to avoid damaging business relationships. A Rockstar Games representative did not respond to a request for comment before publication. Rockstar has not announced a PC version of GTA VI at all. The official site still lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. There is no store page, no system requirements, no date. What exists is a well-sourced report, not a confirmation.

The outlet deserves a look before anyone treats the claim as settled. GamesBeat is an established industry trade publication, not a fan blog or a social account, and it attributes the window to four sources rather than one. That puts it in credible-reporting territory, a real step above rumor traffic. It is still not Rockstar. Four anonymous sources can be right, and they can also be repeating a plan that changes. Release timing is exactly the kind of thing that moves, especially at a studio that has already shifted this game twice.

The date is less interesting than the gap. If the report holds, GTA VI would make it to PC far faster than any prior Rockstar blockbuster. GTA V launched on consoles in September 2013 and did not reach PC until April 2015, about a year and seven months later, after a delayed and loudly criticized wait. Red Dead Redemption 2 took more than a year as well, arriving on PC in November 2019 after an October 2018 console launch. A Q1 2027 PC release would cut that wait down to a matter of months, closer to a simultaneous rollout than the long console-first gaps players remember.

There are concrete business reasons that shift makes sense, and they are the ones the report leans on. Rockstar's parent company, Take-Two Interactive, has been clear that GTA Online and its roleplaying scene carry enormous long-tail value, and the roleplay ecosystem around GTA V lives almost entirely on PC through the FiveM framework, which Rockstar acquired when it bought Cfx.re in 2023. Twitch chief executive Dan Clancy said earlier this year that GTA VI's online component is lined up for 2027. If online play and player-made content are going to matter quickly, the PC version has to arrive quickly too. The PC release is the on-ramp for that.

None of that is confirmation, and keeping the two apart matters. What Rockstar has said publicly is much narrower. Take-Two has repeatedly reaffirmed the November 19, 2026 console date during earnings calls, and both Rockstar and Take-Two have stayed silent on PC timing. Rockstar has not announced Trailer 3, has not detailed the online structure, and has not published any PC release window. The report fills a gap the official record has left open. That is useful, and it is also the kind of gap that gets filled with speculation which later hardens into false certainty.

So here is the honest read on the whole thing. A Q1 2027 PC window is plausible, it comes from a credible outlet citing multiple sources, and it fits what the company's business signals suggest. It is still a report, not news from Rockstar, and it should be held that way until the studio says something on the record. The console date is the only confirmed timing on the board. Everything else, including this, is a plan that could still move.
