The Extended Look is out and fans are pulling it apart. The loudest fresh claim to come out of that week is about a so-called criminal profile system, a morality-style meter that people are already treating like a confirmed mechanic. It is not confirmed, and it is worth saying that plainly before the take spreads any further.
Here is where the claim comes from. On September 1, IGN reported that YouTuber TGG, who got a behind-closed-doors preview during the Extended Look window, described a criminal profile system with four states: Professional, Aggressive, Violent, and Psycho, plus a lower unnamed state that he says begins to crack and can shatter if the player keeps going over the line. IGN also relayed TGG saying Rockstar described that lowest state as very hard to reach and partly there for players who clearly do not care about the system. It sounds specific. It is also one person reading a preview, passed along by a reliable outlet, with no Rockstar confirmation behind it.
Settle on what is actually confirmed, because that list is shorter and it matters. The only gameplay systems Rockstar has formally put on the table come from the Dazed cover story: Jason and Lucia eat, train, and sleep, character switching works, the phones carry in-game social feeds, and choices show up on the characters. None of that confirms a morality meter. Rockstar has not said how wanton crime is measured, whether the game tracks an honor-style rating, or whether that kind of behavior changes the ending.
The honest framing is the source ladder, the same one Next Vice leans on everywhere. Red Dead Redemption 2 had an honor system, and GTA has a long history of measuring the kind of criminal you are. Precedent is real. Precedent is not confirmation. The TGG breakdown is fan-preview reading with a memorable hook, and the shatter-and-become-irredeemable detail is exactly the kind of thing that sounds confident while staying unverified.
What would change this is Rockstar itself: a gameplay deep dive, a Newswire post, or official storefront copy that spells out a criminal profile or morality system. Until that lands, read TGG's four states as reporting about a rumor, not as a fact. If Rockstar does confirm it, this page gets updated the moment the word is official.
